From our Farm to your Bar: The Story of the Hop Garland in Hospitality

Bring authentic brewing character into your space with our traditional hop garlands from our Kent family farm. Perfect for pubs, bars, hotels and restaurants, they add natural texture, heritage and a refined British feel.

While many search for “hop vines” when planning their hospitality decor, they are technically “bines”—climbing by wrapping their stems rather than using tendrils. These bines wrap around and grow up a natural coir coconut string to create the hop garland.

Heritage of the Hop Garlands in Hospitality

Hop garlands have long been part of the visual story of British pubs and inns, where they were traditionally hung to celebrate brewing culture, mark the harvest and create a warm welcome. They came to represent good fortune, with a long-held belief that hops bring good luck to the venue and to the guests gathered beneath them.

Today, that same tradition still holds real charm across hospitality spaces. From classic pubs to stylish bars and boutique hotels, hop garlands offer a small but meaningful link to Britain’s heritage while creating an atmosphere that feels authentic, memorable and full of local character.

Inspiration

Discover simple, striking ways to style hop garlands in your venue.

Drape them above the bar: Create a focal point that screams authenticity. Hanging garlands above the bar doesn’t just look great…

…it connects your venue to the heart of brewing heritage, giving craft beer lovers an instantly recognisable, immersive atmosphere.

Wind them along beams, shelves, or mirrors: Use the natural curve of the bines to break up hard architectural lines.

Whether they’re softening the glow of a mirror or wrapping around rustic beams, they add a layer of organic texture that feels like the countryside has stepped inside.

Add rustic warmth to dining spaces: Elevate the “farm-to-table” experience in your restaurant.

Hops bring a touch of the outdoors to the table, creating a relaxed, cozy environment that perfectly complements a menu focused on quality and provenance.

Sustainability with Substance: Why Hops are a Refined Choice for the Eco-Conscious

In a world of mass-produced decor, there is a certain exclusivity in choosing something grown with heart. Our hop garlands aren’t just “products”; they are the result of an existing passion for sustainability. At Hukins Hops, we are proud to say our farm is carbon negative.

Hops are an exquisite natural decor option because they offer the lush, textural look of greenery without relying on heavily processed, short-lived alternatives.
