We take a look back at the 2025 Harvest and the seasonal delight of green hop beers with a little help from our friend Sean McEmerson
This year, much like the previous years, demand for green hops was exceptionally high, with brewers nationwide eager to create their own unique take on a traditional seasonal beer that can only be brewed at certain time of year. Harvest begins in late august and brewers from far and wide take time out of thier busy schedules to come to the farm and collect bags full of verdant green hops to plunge straight into the heated coppers back at base.
We offer brewers the chance to use varieties such as Fuggles, Challenger, Goldings, Bullion, Ernest and Cascade, each adding their own set of characteristics to the beer, from classic UK aromas like mint, spice and cedar to more punchy new world aromas like Citrus, Lychee and peach.
This year we were joined by Sean McEmerson, working with a handful of craft brewers to create a wonderful article, taking an in depth look at what it takes to make a green hop beer.
