After two years and a few tears, blood, sweat and determination our new Hop Picking Facility has opened at Hukins Hops.
The last ‘oast house’ to be built on the farm was in the 1950’s so the business was due a substantial upgrade. The picking facility allows for greater picking speeds and capacity, larger drying production areas and improved efficiencies. Moreover the latest technology combines with our existing passion for of our beloved hops allowing us to grow, pick, dry, press and preserve our award winning hops to the highest standards.
In tandem our new visitor centre is open allowing for tours to get under away again on the farm, for more information and to book these visit our online shop now https://www.hukins-hops.co.uk/tours-events/ Come and see us soon and learn more about British Hops and their unique role, past and present in modern British brewing.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the farm, to arrange a visit contact Glenn@hukins-hops.co.uk.
A big thank you must go out to all our friends, family and suppliers for helping us achieve our ambition. Special thanks and support go to Dave, Trevor, Nigel, Neil and Ray at Hop Eng Ltd. The new Hop Processing Facility project received funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and we would like to say a big thank you for their support. This included support in the building of our new visitor centre, hop picking, drying and preserving facilities.
